Melanie E. Maino Vieytes is a Research Coordinator at the Center on Gender Equity and Health (GEH). Melanie is supporting ARCHES (Addressing Reproductive Coercion in Health Settings) projects under Dr. Jay Silverman. She served in Peace Corps South Africa (2017-2019) working alongside community leaders in rural Limpopo on educative and empowerment efforts for schoolchildren. Melanie is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Health with a focus on Infectious Diseases at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and is set to graduate come May 2022. Her research interests include masculinity studies, intimate partner violence, health in complex humanitarian emergencies, and big data analytics.
